As the management company, Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel GmbH (SMHD) comprises a dense European sales network, as well as trading companies and agencies worldwide which ensure the successful presence of the Salzgitter Group throughout its chosen markets.

Since the start of 2005, the brand name "Mannesmann" and the international sales and distribution of the Tubes Division products have been integrated into the Trading Division. In addition to the management of the companies Salzgitter Mannesmann International GmbH and Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlhandel GmbH, the steel service centers Hövelmann & Lueg GmbH as well as the Universal Eisen und Stahl GmbH are coordinated by SMHD.
