Entitled “Continuity through progress“ Salzgitter AG is now presenting its first corporate responsibility report (CR). Supplementing the company’s annual report, the CR report provides systematic information on the ecological, economic and social performance of Salzgitter AG.

The report addresses the basic understanding of corporate responsibility (CR) and gives an account of the group-wide performance and activities in the topic areas of “Strategy & Values“, “Markets & Innovation“, “Environment & Energy“, “Employees“ and “Society“.

For us in the steel producing and processing industry, issues related to environmental protection and the health and safety of our staff have always been of particular importance. The Salzgitter Group is aware of its ecological, economic and social responsibilities. Sustainability is therefore a part of our corporate philosophy and a component of our Unternehmensleitbildes 5P (5P Image Progam).

 

With this report we would like to document our commitment to sustainability that is reflected by many aspects in the positioning of our company: we are progressive and innovative on the markets, rooted in our home region and geared to sustainable structures and growth. This is aptly expressed by the title of our CR report outlining our societal contribution to sustainable development: Continuity through progress.
