Salzgitter AG Stahl und Technologie, Salzgitter, announces that the Executive Board has decided on March 13, 2007 not to continue discussions with Algoma Steel Inc., Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, in regards to a possible takeover. It was further announced that no binding takeover bid will be issued for the time being. It is intended to continue to investigate potential for an industrial cooperation.
