In today’s extraordinary meeting the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG has unanimously appointed Prof. Dr. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann as the Chairman of the Executive Board of Salzgitter AG for the period from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2016.

Prof. Dr. Fuhrmann will take up the position as successor to Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Leese, who will retire from this post as from June 2011.

To date, Prof. Dr. Fuhrmann (53) has headed finances as well as the Group’s Technology Division. Mr. Fuhrmann has been active as Vice Chairman since December 2007.
