Peiner Traeger GmbH (Salzgitter Group) announces an increase of 30 €/t for its European section prices.

The Salzgitter Group achieved a considerable increase in its profit in the third quarter of 2011 compared with the year-earlier period. Its presentable performance in the first nine months of the current financial year was due first and foremost to the generally favorable economic environment for rolled steel and tubes products.

Salzgitter AG has signed an agreement to take over Stahl-Metall-Service Gesellschaft für Bandverarbeitung mbH (Stahl-Metall-Service).

The Salzgitter Group is Germany's largest manufacturer of sheet piling products which are mainly used in harbor and civil engineering. The subsidiaries operating in this segment are HSP Spundwand und Profil GmbH (HSP) and Peiner Träger GmbH (PTG), located in Dortmund and Peine respectively.

Dortmund, September 16, 2011 – In yesterday’s Supervisory Board meeting of KHS the key milestones and measures for the development of the international manufacturer of filling and packaging machinery through to 2014 were presented and approved. KHS is a wholly-owned company of the Salzgitter Group.

Salzgitter AG has joined "Go MINT!", the National Pact for women in MINT careers. Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dr. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann and Human Resources Director Peter-Jürgen Schneider have sealed the company's participation through their signatures.

Salzgitter Group to supply around 70,000 tons of steel for the Meerwind Offshore Wind Park project

Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH (ILG), a member of the Salzgitter Group, has won the contract from AMBAU GmbH for the delivery of around 70,000 tons of heavy plate for the Meerwind Offshore Wind Park. This is one of the largest single contracts ever recorded by ILG.

Bernhard Kleinermann has been appointed as the new spokesman of Salzgitter AG and head of Corporate Communication, effective September 1, 2011.

The business activities of the Salzgitter Group developed well overall in the first half of 2011, benefiting from the favourable economic environment and the consistent implementation of measures to improve profit and streamline operations. Consolidated pre-tax profit was therefore considerably higher than the year-earlier result. Following the now virtual completion of the extensive investment program, the financial basis of the Group - with an equity ratio of 44 % and a net cash position of € 951 million - is exceptionally sound.
